Clean the chip with soap and water and then dry it with a soft cotton cloth. If you are going to paint your auto go for Acrylic Lacquer it’s straightforward to Spray on and if you get a run, a quick rub down and Blow in yet another coat of paint It dries quite swiftly and you should get a Gloss of the gun, if you don’t when it is fully dry following a handful of days a rapid Buff more than will give you a amazing finish.
Excellent report I’ve been restoring edwardian cars (as an amature) for some years now and have had to use enamel paint to preserve originality you can get Masons K1 QDP (Quick drying paint) which can be brush or spray painted with excellent success and only demands thinning with K1 thinners ahead of is not as quick as Cellulose but provides a much higher depth of colour with thicker and significantly less prep and application is precisely the exact same as for celly.
Had my 99 Camaro completely re-painted from leading to bottom from dark indigo blue to blood red by a neighborhood shop..i knew going in it was gonna be pricy and when he told me 6,000.00 I was not shocked..but his shop does amazing work and for amazing work you gotta spend a amazing cost..from the time I dropped it off to the time I picked it up was three months..but if you seen my Camaro now you would faint…it is HOT!!!!!
For these of you using acrylics, (and ‘artist’ acrylics are the wrong texture to function with sign brushes by the way), a tip is to constantly wet-then-wipe-off the brush with water before you begin to function, so that the ‘well’ inside the ferrule is not dry when the paint 1st wicks up into it. If it is dry, some paint will always set up in there ahead of you can wash it out, and the effectively will clog up more rapidly.
Initial I draw on the picture with a ‘Pilot’ black felt pen, then I outline the whole picture in white (otherwise the picture appears to fade into the background)subsequent I paint any white that the image needs then my colour (if you don’t paint the white initial you muddy your paints) The picture you draw is not backwards but the lettering is, fortunately paper is see through when you are learning and you can see how to do it backwards.…
